April 2013 Networking Luncheon

  • 10 Apr 2013
  • 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
  • Norton Rose Fulbright, TD Centre, TD Waterhouse Tower, 79 Wellington Street West, Suite 2300, Toronto
Our distinguished guest speakers are from Xstrata: Dominique Dionne, VP Corporate Affairs, who received the RBC Champions Award in the 2012 Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 program and Sepanta Dorri, General Manager Business Development, who was named in the 2012 Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 program in the Trailblazers and Trendsetters category.

We are proud to call these two, powerful, women-in-mining as members of our own. They will present to us the “Business case for gender diversity”. More than ever, globally competitive businesses across multiple industries are learning the value of a diversified workforce towards achieving organizational success. The need for innovation and a greater social conscience through diversity of thought and action has never been greater. In order to achieve long-term sustainable growth, the mining industry has the opportunity to take leadership to capitalize on women’s untapped potential by increasing their participation in the workforce with the opportunity for senior leadership positions and board participation. Through a presentation and Q&A discussion, this session will share the experiences and personal development journey of Dominique Dionne and Sepanta Dorri, their focus on diversity in the Xstrata workplace, and Xstrata’s diversity strategy and drive towards mobilization of a diversity focus within the mining industry.
