OUR SPEAKER:

Jacoline B. Loewen – director of business development of UBS Bank (Canada), named Best Private Bank Globally 2014

Topic:

Jacoline will explore the case of the richest woman in Australia, the mining magnate Gina Rinehart who is now said to be worth 29 billion Australian dollars. Gina dropped out of university and worked in the family business for her father, gaining an extensive knowledge of the Pilbara iron-ore industry. She has gone on to have her own family succession issues. Jacoline will discuss the primary challenges that daughters in family business face and the controversial strategies for addressing them.

  • Why the elder generation may be reluctant to share power and authority.
  • Why successors often fail to develop to their full potential and what the older generation can do to address this.
  • The challenges that are unique to daughters and female successors and how to address these.
  • Strengths and advantages which female successors offer.
